Character Name: Sirius Black
Canon: Harry Potter
Character Background: Sirius is a wizard of the Ancient and Most Noble House of Black, a very, very old family of pureblood wizards with pureblood ideals of pureblood supremacy. He had a rather unhappy childhood. Sirius grew to be the "black sheep" of the family so to speak (pun so totally intended) as he started getting smarter and started developing his ideals and values, and it put him at odds with the majority of his family. As he was sorted into Gryffindor House upon entering Hogwarts and became close friends with Muggleborns and blood traitors alike, he began to position himself against everything the House of Black stood for- and so became a pariah of his family's Toujours Pur way of life. His obedient younger brother, Regulus, was lauded as the better son, and in turn Sirius parents' treatment of him worsened through emotional abuse and openly shaming his . Sirius finally broke away at 16 and sought shelter in his best friend James Potter's family. After Hogwarts, he joined the Order of the Phoenix, and became a rebel against Voldemort in the unfolding First Wizarding War.
Character personality: Clever and charming in equal parts, Sirius is a huge smartass. He's also fiercely loyal to his friends, attractively rebellious, a cunning prankster, and a shameless flirt. He's a total heartbreaker to be honest- his darkly good looks and flawless sweet talk draw girls in, but he shows little real care for them. In the same token, though, his loyalty can make him a merciless bully to those who cross him or his friends, and his exceeding antagonism and pride borders on arrogance at times. He rarely apologises, and never forgets those who trespass against the Marauders. He also harbors a deep shame for his roots, for his terrible, blood purity-crazed family and the abusive manner in which he was raised.
Effects of memory loss: Sirius would probably pretty carefree. He would be concerned by the fact that he doesn't remember anything about himself, but he definitely senses the freedom in not being burdened by his past. The more he learns about himself, though, the more he will despair, both at abandoning his brother at the hands of horrible parents and at his reprehensible, oppressive upbringing. As he regains his memories, his character and resolve will start to take form again and clarify. He will want to rebuild his world because there is so much to be done- he must restore Wizarding Britain so he can help his friends fight against Voldemort.
